Roger Jalhed was born in Halmstad Sweden 1959. I started to paint more regularly from 1989. Many of the early paintings are no longer available, many of them have been destroyed. Only a few works have left my studio during the times from 1995 and later. I started the study at the public school of Free art of painting in the city of Halmstad 1997 - 2000. Oil Painting is the technology that suits me best to keep up with, and is time consuming technique. Acrylic Painting are also for variety's sake when it becomes too much oil painting. Every canvas have a picture, and it can take some time to find out what it is. The graphics are a complement to it. Dry point, etching, linocut and painting on copper plate are the techniques I keep on with. They are represented in small editions up to 100 copies; with exception of painting on copper plate there all of them are original printings.

 It is easy to see who has made these paintings. I have opened a door to a world of pictures that seems to be inexhaustible, there are always something new to paint. The classical music has an effect on the painting's appearance. In 2009 begin back grounds in metal to be made in oil paintings. Nowadays I use metal backgrounds on hard prepared grounds. I avoid to paint on  white canvas, a first preparing with burnt umber with medium which have to dry before the mainly painting. One thing I know for sure,That I can not stop making art.
